1950
First Steps
The origin of our history goes back to the 50s: It started with an industrial company called Cassel that decided to enter the business of representing photographic equipment from brands such as Carl Zeiss, Canon, among others. Besides the success in these businesses, Cassel is also considered a pioneer company because it invented the CCD.
1970
The April Revolution
In the 1970s, the April Revolution took place in Portugal. Equipamentos de Laboratório decided to split into several small representation companies according to their technical specialisation. Thus was born Década, Equipamentos de Electrónica, which represented instrument manufacturers such as Tektronix and included the television and video technology area.
1980
Formation of Década
After the first post-revolution years, the companies born from Equipamentos de Laboratório felt the need to grow. Década then joined Espectral, forming Década Espectral. This company later split into three independent companies: Década Medida, Década Bio, and Década Informática. Década Medida retained the television and video representations.
2000
Independence
In the first decade of this century, Década Medida decided to make its television and video department independent, creating Dec.Imagem. In 2004, Dec.Imagem became independent when a group of people, including the director since its foundation, bought the company from the previous shareholders. Dec.Imagem has always strived to offer good sales, installation and maintenance services for television and video equipment and systems.
2020
Growth and Future
In 2000 we were 4 people, today we are 12. And if we have grown, it is certainly because our clients trust us and give us successive opportunities to show them that we deserve their trust. We couldn't have such a long history if we provided a poor service in such a demanding market, where technology advances so rapidly. We hope you continue to give us more and more opportunities to show that we are capable of doing well.
