Our history
The origin of our history goes back to the 50s: It started with an industrial company called Cassel that decided to go into the business of technical representations, founding the company Equipamentos de Laboratório, which represented important brands in almost all technological areas, including television. At the end of the 50s, Equipamentos de Laboratório represented in Portugal names such as Grass valley, as soon as they invented the first video switcher, or such as RCA, the camera manufacturer that invented CCD.
In the 70s, the April revolution happened in Portugal. Equipamentos de Laboratório then decided to split into several small representation companies, according to their technical specialization. Thus Década, Equipamentos de Electrónica was born, which represented measuring equipment manufacturers, such as Tektronix, and included the technological area of television and video.
After the first post-April revolution times, the companies created from Equipamentos de Laboratório felt the need to become a little bigger. Década then joined Espectral, which was the group's biotechnology and clinical analysis company, forming Decada Espectral. Years later, this company was divided into three independent companies: Década Medida, Década Bio and Década Informática. Década Medida kept the representations in the television and video field.
In the first decade of this century, Década Medida decided to make its television and video department independent, thus creating Dec.Imagem. In 2004, Dec.Imagem became independent from the group where it was born, when a group of people, including the director of Dec.Imagem since its foundation, bought the company from the previous partners/shareholders. Dec.Imagem has always strived to offer a good sales, installation and maintenance service for television and video equipment and systems.
In 2000 we were 4 people, today we are 12. If we have been growing, it is certainly because our customers trust us and give us successive opportunities to show them that we deserve their trust. We couldn't have such a long history if we did a poor job in such a demanding market, in which technology advances so quickly. We hope that you will continue to give us more and more opportunities to show that we are capable of doing well. Or, if you are not our customer yet, we hope that you give us the opportunity to show you that we deserve your trust.
